Greedy bastards
Remember when Oblivion’s $2.50 horse armor was laughed at? It still sold like hotcakes. This is the result of that.
Cough up, idiots who have more dollars than they do sense. While you’re at it I also have some real estate on the moon to sell you. Or maybe your own star. Too far away? Okay, maybe just some NFTs then.
Same with Overwatch’s “crossover” with Diablo, I can’t recall what the pricing was but I heard it was absolutely insanely overpriced, just like this is.

I suspect the people buying MTX for games that cost money are either individuals removed from making the money themselves, ie. children spending parent’s money, in a specific demographic (under 30, no kids), or live in an Asian country where MTX is normal like China / Japan, etc.
Also, do not forget that mobile gaming has been around now for 16 years, and Mobile gaming is what opened the flood gates. Yes, Oblivion horse armor was the first DLC / MTX and it did sell, but parents today and for the last 16 years have been raising their kids by shoving an iPad / iPhone or Android tablet / phone into their child’s hands to keep them quiet. Young adults today were raised on MTX for games that cost money…
It won’t be long before the MTX crosses from cosmetics to actual cut content. Want more levels past the first one? Pony up.
Ooh, that’s what Blizz should do next. Make this armor an NFT! /s
People are still playing that?
+1 who the fuck is masochistic enough to keep going back to that abusive relationship?
I opened the game up the other day for the first time since launch having totally forgotten about all the paid bullshit. Feeling sickened, I quickly closed it again
People are still paying that?
Sadly, the value of a thing is what the market will pay. You shouldn’t be mad at blizzard, you should be mad at all the more-money-than-brains people that can’t get in line fast enough to throw their money at blizzard. If it weren’t for them, blizzard couldn’t get away with that kind of pricing.
Why not both?
What I find most outrageous is that these microtransactions are somehow seen as normal in a 70€ game nowadays. I really miss the days where there wasn’t any microtransactions for a game you pay/paid to play.
