Ah, I see my husband has made a Lemmy account.
For real though, he is not there for the story or the rp, he’s there to rage out and fight. Meanwhile I’m doing shitty voices and putting on a full Oscar worthy performance.
There are such broad dynamics between what players want, and I fucking love how flexible D&D is for that.
I’m now on my husband’s lap as he driving us 70 mph on the highway.
That seems highly unsafe.
Ugh, my husband made me play the role of Vincent in “A Way Out” and didn’t tell me anything about it beforehand.
I had such a good time playing that game all the way until the final battle where instead I just bawled my eyes out and refused to play.
Great game, but I would never play it again.
Imagine being an American so privileged and revered you get paid to live in Italy in one of the most historically iconic places on Earth…
… and you throw it all away so you can hate on gay people and vaccines. Wtf.
How dare you make something so delicious and not even invite me to help you eat it?
It’s a time saver for sure. My husband and I use it a lot though over the past 2 months we’ve made conscious efforts to cook at home more for both money saving (it’s fucking expensive) and to reduce our calorie intake.
That being said, it’s really nice to just press a quick button, and then start sweeping, doing laundry, vacuuming, taking out the trash, etc, and then food just shows up that can now be conveniently cleaned up quickly as well.
Cooking yourself not only takes away time from the other chores kicking them to getting done later, but also now adds chores as well with the dishes.
I reason that something has to give between work, fitness, chores, schooling, sleep, and downtime. So far it’s been my sleep, but I don’t feel guilty using food delivery services to get some gaming/social time back in as well.
Omg I always thought that was a snot bubble and I had no idea wtf that emoji was supposed to convey.
Holy fuck I’m dumb sometimes.
Oh no!!! I didn’t know it was split between all 3 of them! I thought each were given around $1M. That is still not enough for their contributions to society (especially in lieu of billionaires who do nothing), but it’s especially obscene that they all get closer to $300K instead.
This is kinda where I’m at.
I believe no American citizen (either natural born or immigrant) should have to work just to live a safe life.
Everyone should have access to a safe, well kept, secure, climate controlled home with internet access, 3 meals a day, and Healthcare.
After that, if people want to “work extra” and save up for legit luxuries and not necessities for life, then let them. Let the people who want to flaunt their wealth have their Lamborghini, while the rest of us are living comfortable with an Electric SUV if you have a family/Electric Coupe if alone(or even better. A walkable city!)
Not to take away from your shower thought OP, but more to soften the blow (because yeah, we for sure are worshipping billionaire fucksticks like Elon Musk as a society), we are still awarding the Nobel Prize to people who make strides in scientific areas that benefit humanity.
The people who discovered mRNA technology and prepped it for clinical use were just given the Nobel prize this week: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2023/10/02/1202941256/nobel-prize-goes-to-scientists-who-made-mrna-covid-vaccines-possible
That makes me kinda sad actually, but the reality is, you could be right.
It’s a pretty hard thing to wrestle with the idea of sobriety if someone can’t imagine living their life that way. I get it. I’m a partier at heart who always wants to be out and about with people socializing, and the bar is the easiest place to gather other adults.
Hopefully if they are someone who wants to cut back, (and can do so safely), they take a peek in and see that it’s not meant to be judgey. If someone checks in for a day or two and not the next, no one is coming after anyone/shaming anyone/questioning anyone. Just come back the next time you don’t wanna drink. It’s that low threat and chill.
I’m a verbose individual so I write novels, but most folks are legit just like “Not drinking today”, and leave it at that. Whatever works, right?
Meh, fuck the downvotes. Its an important daily post in an important community. I really enjoy the accountability it provides.
But is not gonna be for everyone. Most people are normies who are good with never drinking or only have one or two every few weeks at best.
Maybe they just want it off their homepage. Who knows?
Edit: And I saw it suggested elsewhere it could just be a misclick, which is very possible. Either way, just keep on keepin’ on!
Fuck yeah. Diet Coke, Black Coffee, and Water are the 3 constants in my life.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. 100%.
Yeah, it sucks too. A couple years ago I was trying to get out of a Sirius Satellite subscription I had opted into during the height of the rony 'rona.
Instead of sitting on the phone with CSRs for hours on end while they pass me around and offer me incentives to stay, I thought I’d be smart and report that my credit card was lost. (At the time you couldn’t disenroll online, that changed I happily found out a few months ago)
Joke was on me though. Sirius updated my new card info, and I was without a credit card for ~8 days.
Okay. I admit it. I grinned.
But in all seriousness, it is good to know that even in states with lesser consumer protection laws, purchasers will still be protected.
I love learning little random tidbits of knowledge like this!
I was wondering if this violated false advertising laws? I’m definitely nowhere near a Lawyer, so I can’t begin to grasp the nuances of things like that but…
If someone buys the car under the pretense that it will drive 500 miles on one charge, and it consistently only makes it 350 miles, that’s not a variable tolerance issue like +/-10% . It’s a straight up “I sold you a falsehood” issue.
The original Independence Day, The Big Short, Jaws, Halloween, and Pacific Rim are all comfort movies that are on rotation whenever my husband or I are gone for work and I get lonely 😂
I’d imagine places like Svalbard. Technically it’s inhabitable now, and has been for decades but it’s the most Northern year round sustained population on the globe.
Further North is Arctic tundra and there isn’t a sustained population. Maybe he’s referring to areas like that.
Though I will say that back in 2019 I saw an article about how every winter a bunch of Reindeer in Svalbard die due to climate change. As the spring rolls in and snow melts, Reindeer corpses are left behind in the fields 🥺.
Definitely something to keep in mind the next time he denies me the standing ovation I deserve for my performance. 💅
