Not only that, but iirc they are packaged in liquid form and it solidifies into flat sheets as they are pressed together.

Pop ups are annoying on a traditional computer, but on touch interface devices they are pure evil.
You’re going to move it, right? It will dominate that small space and choke out everything else…
Time to put a stake in that cuke!
I’ve had a complicated relationship with cannabis my whole life. When I was younger, every time I tried it, I didn’t care for it. Then I started hearing about medical use, and I thought it was just an excuse to get high (which I was 100% in favor of, I’ve never been a Prohibitionist). Then came my injury. I tried again and still didn’t like it, nor did it seem to help.
Years go by, and a friend brought me some edibles from CO after they legalized it, and I found at a low dose, I could get significant pain relief with little to no high, and I’ve been a daily user since then. After a while, I learned to appreciate the feeling, so I indulge in it occasionally as well.
Man, I bet this is why all religions talk about paradise being heaven. All those religious dudes probably got stoned from various shit and then came up with the idea of paradise being on a higher plane of existence.
If this is something you want to explore, check out The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross by John Allegro. It was out of print for a while but I think it has been reprinted and is available all over.
Take it with a grain of salt, though. There’s been plenty of criticism of his ideas, but it’s still interesting to think about. It’s is a very. dry. read. though…
I think any of the books Mary Roach would suit you. They are easy to read, yet are brimming with science explained in a fascinating and unintimidating way.
Her book Stiff is prolly my favorite. It explains what happens to the body starting with death, and covers medical, forensic, and funerary subjects (among others). Fascinating.
Happy anniversary!
I’m more of an edibles guy, but yes.
flip…180 degrees
I tried that as well, but it didn’t work, I think the bagels were too thick to have it work properly. It just comes down to bad design, imho.
A lot of those were in the break room at my job.
I’ve only seen one toaster properly implement the bagel function properly, and it was $200. Every other toaster up to $130 that I’ve tried has failed miserably, often toasting the outside more than the inside. They all aim to “warm” the outside and end up toasting it at least a little.
I get that, but it’s executed poorly. If only 20-30% of the time they’re cut properly to do the twist move, it’s still a failure. I’d rather have a bag of disconnected bagel halves or have to cut them myself than the BS currently available in my local market.
I don’t want my English muffins sliced at all, personally, and I agree about freshly sliced bread…
…but…
In the US, pre-sliced bagels are the worst. They’re the fucking worst! In a package of 6 bagels, at least 4 will not be sliced in the middle, so you get one “half” with 75% of the bagel, and the other “half” just disintegrates. Of the ones that are sliced in the middle, they leave a line of uncut area for godknowswhy and trying to tear it apart usually fucks up one of the halves.
One shouldn’t have to pull out a sharp knife to open a pre-sliced bagel!
And don’t even get me started on toasters with a bagel function…
Sweet zombie Jesus!
“Vaniller ice cream” is my go-to when explaining this.
I would not use silicone spray, personally. It might be perfectly fine, but I’ve never had it recommended to me for that purpose.
What I have been told to use, and have used regularly for a few years is CRC contact cleaner. You can find it online or in stores like harbor freight or just about any hardware store. It’s supposed to clean and lubricate electrical contacts, and works really well.
Brilliant word, thanks for using it.
