I was here.
I wonder what sort of problems having near-unlimited energy at our disposal would bring. Like, light and noise pollution are already bad enough. But would people be even more careless with that? And if we manage to automate most things and energy isn’t an issue, how would we live and occupy ourselves? How would that change industries and the world? How would that change things like war and power struggles in general? What about science and electronics?
It’s a bit concerning but also fascinating
Good Guy Satan wants to get educated and get an abortion that could save your life.

When you’re over-qualified for the job
Fine! Be like that!
No, this is a classic case of confirmation bias on social media. And I’ve seen too many people on Lemmy on the daily who have developed a smug attitude and think that everyone else is just another idiot and talk down to others from the start because of it. For a crowd that preaches compassion and understanding, sometimes I wonder why it’s only selectively applied by these folks.
No, it’s more like a free Illustrator especially made for web design. Although it’ll spit out some shitty code, Figma isn’t a WYSIWYG static site generator. But you can still build prototypes and mockups of limited functionality complete with animations and user clicks that are just for show. It also has a fairly sizeable community with plug-ins and templates. It’s a really neat tool overall.
I miss the UI of the early 2000s era. It felt so slick back then.
Will someone think of the shareholders! 😩
Good news! It was already heading in a shitty direction with the new chances that they overly hyped and then put behind their shitty Adobe subscription model. Old Figma would let you use it and master it before you bought it and it was successful.
Yeah, even the startup time needs some work. It’s more useful for when I’m doing other work that’s more involved.
Here’s the developer showcasing some of the features. He has plenty of other videos and some are more interesting than others, but they’re overall pretty neat.
I’m from a “poor” country where we eat avocado regularly. It’s weird for me to hear that that’s what’s allegedly bankrupting Americans. Lol
Obsidian + ExcaliDraw is mind-blowing. The integration is absurdly good! It can even render entire PDFs for highlighting (a bit slow but usable).
I’m so sorry we have to endure that thought together… again 🙁
I smell a rat!
(And it’s not me this time, I showered today!)
From day two onwards he’s just a dicktator.
There is no article that I could find, so I guess you take my word for it. But I’ll fill you in on why I said it from what I remember. You can make up your mind on this:
I was looking for a digital scale during the pandemic and naturally went on Amazon. I found some within my budget (I live outside the US) but most of them had multiple reviews complaining about a weird error that they couldn’t fix. I did some digging around, yet nobody seemed to know what the error really was that was showing up after some time of prolonged use without signs of wear. Eventually, I got to a thread on some technical forum that said it was a software error that strongly hinted at planned obsolescence after so many uses.
The weird thing is that I can’t find any of the models that had this on Amazon anymore but it doesn’t surprise me after some of the shit I’ve seen on there with people manipulating reviews on other products I’ve bought. So I guess it could go either way for someone review-bombing the product or it being a real issue, but that doesn’t explain the error showing up on other sites. I wish I could remember what the error code was.
If anybody knows anything more about this, I’d love to hear it. It certainly was a strange surprise that ended up costing me a bit more than I was planning to spend. But I guess bullet dodged?
I had “good parenting” and I still did so much shit. Lol
$150-300k makes sense. $225M does not. It’s obscene and absurd.
Yeah, I meant more along the lines of what those unknown problems could look like. For example, whales get very disturbed by sound pollution in the water and I can just imagine that a lot of other animals do as well. Not to mention that we ourselves apparently risk mental health from all the noise in the city. How would that change if we have more electronics at our disposal? Or maybe it’ll be the opposite and we can build more quiet EVs.
