PC is a different story, I use wired headset there exclusively unless it is work PC and I need mic, then I also use wireless.

My only reason besides stuff being free is that I want my music library offline. There are some services like Bandcamp that offer it, but it would not cover a meaningful percentage of all my library. Not gonna buy and rip CDs myself as well

I am using MS Authenticator and Aegis. Using MS authenticator only for work accounts that have been setup for number matching feature, it is pretty nice to simply enter 2 digits in app than entering 6 digits in client itself any time you need to approve MFA.

Everything else that supports standard TOTP whether work related or personal is on Aegis - it is a much better TOTP app.

It’s a security / compliance policy. There is a very high chance your company has not even enabled it, have not seen anyone using it.

As I see it, you would and could use it only if you force MS Authenticator notification as the only MFA method and it is important in which country MFA prompt originates. Usually it is IP based block / whitelist which checks IP from which login originates which seems like a much more useful info, then you can also allow any MFA method.

You can always deny permissions to apps.

Sounds more like a bad design than purposefully left backdoors. Very few devices are rooted and usually you cannot get root without fully wiping your device in process. As for cloud upload, that indeed is convenient for most regular users. I prefer encrypted offline backup like Aegis does, but you need to think about regular folk if they would loose or wipe their device.

Are there well known TOTP apps with backdoors?

Googled a bit, not 100% sure but seems that CPU does not seem to have TPM at all so kind of out of luck. Motherboard does not have it either? In theory you could add it, no idea about cost.

Have never tested, but I remember there being methods to install W11 to any HW. No idea if afterwards everything works as expected, maybe give it a read and test in VM first.

Doubt that most cannot run W11. Unless you have a CPU before 2018 you should have TPM 2.0 and if you do not, you can bypass that requirement with 1 reg value. This officiall bypass still requires TPM 1.2, but most probably have it.

Sounds like you need to look into new client if opening any link closes client.

Actual medal does seem weird, true. I think I have heard Finland having a similar care package, sounds pretty cool and probably the best option to first of all guarantee parents do not get a monetary allowance that could be spent elsewhere, booze for example.

Looked into my country laws and in Latvia you get a monthly allowance based on total count of children up to realistically 18 or 20 years (depends if you continue education)

• one child - EUR 25 per month
• two - EUR 100 per month (EUR 50 for each child);
• three - EUR 225 per month (EUR 75 for each child);
• four and more children - EUR 100 per month for each child.

If you have 3+ kids you also can get a card that has benefits / reduced cost for various services.

Do not really see a problem with this one. Don’t most countries recognize families with X number of children and give some benefits? It doesn’t immediately mean everyone starts having 10 children families.

Chrome has some special method / offline client built-in to access Gmail? Do not know anyone who just does not use Gmail web client https://gmail.com

This impacts all Chromium based browsers. Unless support is maintained separately by browser vendor, only other option is Firefox or any of its forks.

This is kind of a time for Mozilla to shine, but I worry they will mess up and maybe even follow later.
