  • If you don’t want to be called there to always it support it, go for off the shelf solution. Both qnap and Synology offer the same. When i looked half a year ago, i saw Synology as being more expensive at the time so went with ts464 qnap.

Qnap do provide a roadmap of support for older devices. So you have an idea how long they will remain supported for.

  • Oil prices are high, sometimes they are still selling above sealing price. They are still making more thab enough money from oil and other resources sales to keep financing this war for a long time. Plus every year they get about a million conscripts. Its unfortunate that they are so big that a massive cluster fuck of a war is bot affecting them as much as we are led to believe.

Compared to the west they had years and years of oil sales to build up a lot of capital to continue financing such wars.

What we need is to boost ammunition production and provide more military aid/training to Ukrainians. Alot more than now. The front is huge, few tanks won’t make a weather there without being able to chunk through ammunition like theres no tomorrow. So ammunition first and more tanks/planes after.

  • I’d advise against it if purely for ease of life in your new home country. Some, like UK require you to still have dealings with your previous country.

For example if i want to change my surname to my wifes name, home office demanded that i change the surname in my original passport first. They even say that if you need to physically go to your country of origin to do so, you have to unless they will kill you (for example persecution of LGBT). But i donno what kind of proof they would need to support this claim.

I have a strong suspicion that “burned my passport as a statement” would not qualify, even if it means supporting a terrorist state with cash (because consular services are paid by cash in 3rd world countries.)

  • Except if you actually lived in Russia in the 80-90’s moved to the west, saw the life here and look where putler is going towards with his so called “rule of law”, you would actually understand why it matters to stop that idiot. Out of the two clearly both evil, self serving entities of Nato or Russia, I know under which I would much rather live, even if neither is perfect.

Corruption happens everywhere, look at a UK, scandal after scandal, after scandal, do those involved in scandals resign? You wish they did, no those cocks cling on to power like a bad std. Only recently we had a string of relatively high profile resignation which had to be forced.

Sorry ranted on, but really the problem is that putlers regime is actually evil, Ukranians are dying to protect the rest of Europe from them. So paying for sending weapons to them is the least that I think I can personally do. For America it is better to stop putler before he attacks a Nato country and you would have to send your soldiers on the ground here.

(By the way, I agree with your Iraq statement, it was always about resources, and so is this war for putler, just look where “conveniently” gas deposits were found in 2012…)
