I feel we just can’t agree on this argument online, and it’s likely because the line for tolerance differs on so many factors, history being a huge one.
I’m aware German laws exist to ban fascist symbols, likely as an ounce of prevention along the lines, “we won’t repeat another Hitler”.
It might take the US falling into a fascist state and being liberated to make us adopt such “drastic” measures as raids. Until then 1A has been routinely held up to protect hate speech so for now it’s up to us as a society to make a conscious decision what we’ll tolerate. We just have to be as vocal about it as the racists/fascists.
Thanks, that does make sense. I just finished raking leaves, walked 2 miles today for fitness, cooked dinner, and cleaned up. And there’s still more to do…
If it wasn’t for the tip I would honestly do it too. But I hate tipping non-wait staff so I’ll go pick a pizza up just to avoid it.
Hey, why do you hate trickle down economics so much!

As someone who doesn’t use it* I’m curious, why is it so addicting?
*My wife used it once when we were out of state for a wedding but only because I was stuck inside due to illness.
That’s certainly true, but to catch mainstream it’s still a decent gap. My mom struggled even signing into Gmail. Think about their patience as you describe the process to configure DNS records? All while there are free options available.
For us privacy focused folks it’s viable and I might consider it too.
Slightly off topic - someone mentioned they don’t use Tutanota for social interactions because the domain is weird and I agree whole heartedly. Everytime I’m on the phone with a support dept. or tell my friends and I spell it out I feel so silly. Not to mention my wife has gotten it wrong several times.
Love the solution, their support is responsive as well, but yeah…
I think he’s just suggesting that the plugin filters it down to what an algorithm considers legitimate. These plugins usually only filter when you click the item so it wouldn’t necessarily move the result down, just reduce potential purchases (which would eventually drop the result.
E: I’m probably stating the obvious above but the damage to bottom line might be after repeat findings until a user ultimately decides Amazon is mostly untrustworthy.
One of the biggest fears I tend to think of about in space is Kessler Syndrome where one collision creates a shotgun blast of debris that increases the chances for more collisions (cascade effect). If you’ve seen the movie Gravity you get a great example of how it would go down.
For some, money is tight, and there are already so many subscriptions available for premium service. Many of those are solutions to combat forced enshitification. The Internet is too powerful of a tool to back us into paying for every little feature. So forgive me for being a dum dum and not giving in and enabling these services that aim to nickel and dime.
I’m just saying that government contracts == money and so my point is that while Comptia may be (read: most definitely is) a scam/racket it can make a person eligible for a paycheck. Agreed that it doesn’t mean they’re competent.
Not disagreeing about it being a scam but the government uses Sec+ as an IAT level 2 requirement. Helps meet some contract requirements.
I do enjoy lifting weights but I can tell it’s because I’ve been sitting at a desk all day. I think I’d hate it if I had any other job.
When a robot replaces your job (or perhaps your friends or family) and you/they lose their way of earning money will your argument remain the same?
If AI/robots could give us the utopia from sci-fi books it’d be grand and I’d be inclined to agree with you. But they aren’t, no one is getting early retirement because a robot replaced them in a factory and artists aren’t getting residuals from the derivatives these “trainings” are creating. It’s theft, outright, and the thieves are trying to make money off these originals.
