I must’ve gotten lucky with my quarter of a dozen friends who do that…
That’s correct, on X11 Discord works… relatively fine, ot least that used to be the case for me.
More precisely, Discord uses an ancient version of Electron which doesn’t support most of Wayland’s shenanigans.
I’ve tried several combinations of versions and sources (at least 5), but there’s always something missing.
There’s a bunch of other things, like HDR; I don’t have a HDR monitor so I can’t say what people are missing, but I tried to mess with it in my pet-project game engine and vkSetHdrMetadataEXT
just does not exist at all, and I don’t know what library or Vulkan layer could provide it.
It matches with what I’ve heard around, although apparently KDE supports it now?
It’s not much of a problem with BG3, more like a problem with Discord being absolute stinky festering garbage and not playing nice with my window manager at the time (Sway).
Mine is not an argument asserting that people think games can’t run on Linux, mine is a mockery of the people who do so (I know several).
I find you insufferable too, don’t worry
Same here, I only had to run BG3 on Windows (in a VM) for very specific reasons tied to my setup.
You’ve gotta pay, pal.
It says that it’s cheaper than adultry.
Yeah, I just wanted to screenshot the part where a guy claimed a woman as a prize for collecting foreskins
Biblically accurate incel or something, idk I skipped the book to the end
It’s a term that has existed for quite a while, at least in this kind of community.
Beginner stuff is good enough as far as I remember, just try not to rely on it too much in the long term (since MDN is also a good alternative)
Same goes for 5 people who saw this post (so far), apparently
Perhaps Plasma automatically sets the various enviornment variables to enable consistent themes? I haven’t used it in a while…
There must be GTK somewhere, gtk3
is a dependency on Arch and the GTK_USE_PORTAL env var strongly suggests GTK has something to do with the file chooser. If they’re going to have to reimplement the latter, I hope it’s going to be less horrible than the GTK one but knowing Mozilla I’m not that faithful…
At the expense of missing what could potentially be a deadpan ironic comment, I would like to divert your attention to the name of the community this meme was posted on
It turned out not to be the problem, I just incidentally changed other stuff while doing it
I think that was because Google dropped the controversial part of it or something, idk for sure since I don’t even bother keeping up with web dev. There was the whole WEI stuff to make up for that…
Radeon RX 580, or rather two of them: a “default” one, then one I use when running vfio-powered virtual machines or miscellaneous Vulkan projects I play with occasionally.
It doesn’t have all the newest features, but I run most games just fine.
