  • It all depends on the circumstances. Driving down the road, and glancing away for a minute and not seeing a bicycle driving on the road until a second before you hit them isn’t really negligent.

That’s why it’s an accident. The driver was within the lines of the roadway, the bicycle wasn’t on the shoulder, and it looks like the driver did not see the bicycle.

That’s called an accident. If you’re negligent for any reason, sure punish the driver. But this doesn’t look at all like that kind of situation here.

I know this crowd is very pro bikes and doesn’t think cars should exist, but you guys are the extreme

I had a build I made in 2011, same case but the white version.

Gtx 580 (yes that old, not THAT 580, the old one by nvidia lol)

    These are CAD prices

Case - NZXT Phantom $200 i7 2600K $400 p8-z68 Deluxe $250 Corsair vengeance 16gb (4x4gb) Corsair gold ax850 Optical drive (blu-ray) SSD HDD Corsair H100 CPU cooler $100 GTX 580 $500 Panasonic TH-50PZ85U (this is the plasma screen tv I originally had it hooked up to)

That PC is still hooked up in the office, my daughter plays roblox on it. It’s hooked up to a 144hz, 1440p LG ultra gear monitor and that beast is still going strong. A couple case fans don’t work anymore, and I don’t care.

Built this to play Diablo 3

The fan controls on the case do still work though!

  • This was obviously an accident. The report says the driver stopped and cooperated with police.

Just an unfortunate accident. Car accidents should never happen, obviously, but being on the road is inherently fucking dangerous.

My father was killed in a car crash that he didn’t cause, my friends older brother was killed on his bike on the side of the road when he got hit by a passing car, I’ve been in about 6 small car accidents myself.

I have two friends who have died on motorcycles, and 3 more who have had bad accidents and are lucky to still be alive.

You take your life in your hands when you use a roadway in any vehicle, but especially in a vehicle that leaves you so unprotected.

Very unfortunate and I’m glad everyone is okay.

  • I don’t subscribe to the idea that tweets or message boards or ideas or ‘silence’ is violence.

The upvote system was invented to put relevant discussion to the top, and hide irrelevant discussion. What people have done with it is use it as a like/dislike button.

If that’s what it was, that’s what it would be called. Like Facebook, which has an actual ‘like’ button

But I do think people who even interact with the system are losers. That’s my personal, anecdotal, opinion of them

  • Strange, it’s displaying as if I replied to a different comment than I intended to.

But really, I’m just mocking people who downvote others because they don’t agree with their comment. I think it’s really lame.

I’d like a place to talk to people, about contentious issues. I personally never use the downvote button and only occasionally even use the upvote button.

When I see a perfectly reasonable comment with -50 downvotes within minutes of posting … it makes me laugh at everyone who just can’t hit that downvote button fast enough.

So I’m really just mocking those people
