I live an increasingly confusing double life as TeaHands the game dev, and TheGiddyStitcher, multicrafter extraordinaire!
Currently working on my first ever commercial indie game, a minimalist city builder.
This might be the showerthought that’s given me the most to think about ever. Can’t stop thinking about licking my couch, for a start. Well played OP.
All kinds of things really although mostly they’re on my list to learn so I’ll have them one day. Tatting might be my main one for 2024.
(Edit: Forgot the “why”. Mostly because it’s come up twice lately here on Lemmy and I feel left out while other people are making pretty lace)
I do wish I could learn to draw a bit better, to play the piano, and to speak multiple languages. But realistically I don’t have that kind of time so have to go with things that are quicker to pick up!
Figure out what sort of thing you’d like to see, check out the related hashtag feeds. You can follow tags as a good way to get started and follow individual people as and when they pop up with something cool.
I have a really out of the loop question that will probably make me sound like a troll, but really I’m just old and out of the loop:
What exactly are the unique features of Tumblr? as far as I recall it was just a blogging site with support for specific post formats, right? Did it get more complicated than that?
Jes!
(That’s Esperanto for “yes”. It’s pronounced “yes” 😄)
‘Bough’ and ‘bow’ are pronounced the same
Except, of course, when “bow” is pronounced “bow” instead.
Oh ho!
Speaking as one half of a small business that thought “surely nobody will pay that much for shipping”, honestly just do it. As long as it’s clear and up front how much they’re paying, a lot of folks are used to the shipping prices and won’t bat an eye. The process is pretty easy as well (assuming Royal Mail).
Ah see you’ve buggered that right up by being honest, should’ve just come in all “hey look what I found” 😉
Most recent post there was 2 hours ago. You might have it blocked or something.
To add to Otter’s reply, one of the best ways to keep growing after the initial announcement is simply just to make sure you mention and properly link it whenever it’s relevant to the conversation.
a) Lets people know the community exists and b) gives them a way to go straight there without having to faff about.
I seeee! Never heard the finer details of that whole thing (I was young and not super into his stuff anyway). Smart guy though by the sounds of it!
Played through it with my husband, usually on an evening after work, and discovered that no matter how stressed or annoyed you are the Outer Wilds intro / menu is just instant relaxation. Like sliding into a whole other world where everything is going to be ok.
Could’ve picked something easier to pronounce, though.
…I can’t believe you’ve done this. Holy crap, thank you!
Honestly don’t even know what to say to this. I guess I better get designing a Steam page!
On one hand this makes me sad for you, because snow is excellent. But on the other that does mean you live somewhere nice and warm, and as I sit here rolled up in my electric blanket it doesn’t sound so bad.
I hope you get to not only see snow, but experience the satisfying cronch of frolicking in an unspoiled patch :D
Same, I follow a search result there sometimes but essentially just logged out there, signed up here, and that was that. The Reddit Days seem like another lifetime now.
One for everyone’s list there I reckon. Good luck!
Pretty sure most people just use their Mastodon app. I’ve heard decent things about Fedilab as well, haven’t tried that one myself but I hear it has PeerTube support.
The PT devs have just announced they’ll be working on a proper app in 2024 so 🤞
