I’ve heard people saying everyone should be more involved in local politics, but I don’t think this is what they have in mind…
WELL THAT’S ALL RIGHT THEN!
but sometimes you get a “false elector” who legally overrides democracy and votes for a different candidate.
Genuine questions - how often does that happen? It can’t be a lot, and it can’t make the deciding vote, right, otherwise the whole system would have been ripped apart by the media long ago…
While true, the Tory party that won the last election looks a bit different to the gobshites that are in government now.
Don’t get me wrong, I thought the last lot were assholes as well, but while technically legal, swapping out basically all of the government several times seems like a bit of a bait and switch.
I assume his slogan was “Well I’m not as bad as Priti ‘fuck you I got mine’ Patel”…
It’s like they’re all reading the same copy of ‘how not to be a garbage human being’ and doing the exact opposite of each lesson…
Me? I’m a Brit. I loathe everything Trump stands for.
Enjoy a second Trump presidency!
I 100% get why they changed them for Strange New Worlds, but damn if I don’t love that Enterprise-coloured Discovery-style uniform.
I’ve seen a story where one of the faire participants had a commbadge hidden in their costume, pulled the Trekkie to one side, showed it to them, then told them off for breaking the Prime Directive…
His face, his voice, his… everything…
“By Grabthar’s Hammer… … what a savings”

I was going to tell you a time travel joke, but you didn’t like it.
Yes. We had it so good. I voted Remain because I had no idea of the true implications of leaving. However, I wouldn’t knee-jerk vote Rejoin, because I have no idea of the full implications of that. Unless the choice was “rejoin with the exact same conditions we had before”, I’d have to do an awful lot of reading.
Because, unlike the politicians who want to fit complex socioeconomic policies into a tweet, reality is much more complicated than that. And I’m not putting my vote to something I don’t understand. That’s not socially responsible.
Isn’t that because at the root of greed is the inability to be satisfied? Why don’t billionaires, when they have literally money beyond avarice, more than they could possibly spend in a thousand lifetimes, just say “nope, I don’t need any more, everything else I earn can go to charity”?
But they don’t. They get richer. And despite the public image of them, they’ll still try and screw the regular workers out of as many toilet breaks as they can get away with in order to maximise how much they earn.
It’s almost beyond evil.
With just a jump to the left…
Proof we need more Brits around here, the answer is clearly “sausages”… 😁
Should copyright for works that old be expired? Yes!
In the actual world we live in, was this guy ever going to avoid being sued so hard that his grandchildren will be embarrassed for him? No!
You’ve got to admire the lemming-like devotion to the legal cliff he threw himself off though. Writing a sequel to not only a copyright work, but one that is still in the cultural zeitgeist thanks to a 20-year old wildly successful series of films? Ballsy. Subsequently suing one of the largest companies in the world and the estate that produced the original works as infringing his copyright?
Chutzpa, I believe the term is.
