I’ve been using DDG exclusively for years now and every now and then I feel it doesn’t give me what I seek and I try Google and it doesn’t find shit either.
People always say that Google results are still superior but I believe that’s only the case as long as you’re in the bubble they create based on your profile and you’re looking for your interests and like-minded opinions.
Good for you. But since the subreddit is the explicit topic or this thread the right thing to do would have been to not post a reply at all.
Are apps site-exclusive or federated as well? Will I be able to use a Lemmy app with a kbin account?
Original content and exclusively for the Fediverse! That’s a good sign.
Can the reminder bots be migrated too?
I’ve had the suspicion about my comments ever since I’ve posted kbin ads (only twice). Timely comments fitting the thread and zero reactions while the one I replied to gets 1000s of upvotes.
Oh well, it’ll be over next week anyway. Prepare for the wave!
That sub hasn’t migrated yet, has it?
90% posts from the same account. Hardly a community.
Many people just have phones now.
Not OP but I have my KeePass file on a locally hosted Nextcloud instance. Synced to multiple computers and phone but the Nextcloud server is only accessible at home LAN.
Passwords are the kind of data that don’t belong in the cloud, in my opinion. Those companies are too juicy targets.
“Please name a reason to use Windows other than your main reasons for using Windows.” That is how it comes across.
And that was exactly what I intended. The only thing Windows has going for it is better adoption. Devs would target other platforms if users chose them - it’s starting in gaming thanks to Valve and their Steamdeck.
I really don’t see another reason, let alone a manifold of them, to stay on Windows. Especially since Microsoft has been making it worse and worse with their snooping, annoying update policy, constantly increasing pricing, ever-shorter lifecycles and push to cloud.
And yet, Linux tools are even older and the kernel better written than either Windows or OSX.
manifold reasons for running windows
Please name some other than “proprietary software that only runs on Windows”.
I’ve switched to Linux as my main driver couple of years ago and don’t miss a damn thing (admittedly don’t use highly specialized software and ran the FOSS alternatives on Windows even before switching). Still have Windows on my work PC and dread it every day.
That’s not the best meme template for this. Linux is a chad, not the virgin boy.
Rock solid.
