Also zeppo@lemmy.world. Not a lot of Zeppos out here.
I saw it a lot at hipster coffee shop/breakfast places 4-5 years ago, but not nearly to the extent old people seemed to think.
I’ve barely ever used threads, in a large part because they don’t have a fully functional website and require use of an app. So I have no idea… I assume there’s some quality content but I agree that it must be flooded with BS too. I’d be interested in seeing what a Lemmy instance connected to threads looks like. I assume it would wreck browsing ‘New’.
Mr @zuck is there any chance of you reading my messages about my request for 2M$ man i have been trying every day to contact you and waiting for your response since last 5 months . I have told you why i am asking you for 2M$ i dont know if you ever read my messages but in short you are the only who can make it happen and if there is someone who can give me 2M$ its only you so please read my messages and please make it happen for us and change our lives I am waiting for you since last 5 months .
Looks like the exact same bullshit as facebook and twitter. There might be better examples of good or bad posting though since Zuckerzuck’s posts are especially spammed out, since splammy people think they’re especially good for visibility.
Well, let’s see what the ToS says. sh.itjust.works here.
Legal:
TBD
Oh.
As far as any legal liability, no, unless you’re successfully anonymous (VPN, tor, etc)
Nice! I love brandies. Doing a calvados today myself. Pisco goes a bit quickly for me… it’s too good.
I still wonder why they did that, like, what was the rush? Wasn’t like Twitter was all of a sudden going to be good again if they waited.
I assume a dog humping a vegetable (sorry, fruit), the way dogs like doing that to just about everything.
It gives them the ability to compile data on people of the fediverse, though. They might not get the same depth of information as if we used their websites directly, or nearly as much as from their apps, but they still get usernames and comments and whatever other data they can deduce from that from any instance they’re federated with. Of course, if they were really interested they could just scrape it.
The issue was about threads implementing federation to connect to mastodon, lemmy and other networks that use that system. They did not implement it then, but said they would do it in the future. The topic has come up again because they announced they’re doing it now.
Do you observe other people on YouTube using a special character format?
I don’t think the rest of us have had this problem to the extent that we know a special character format.
Not many possibilities, are there? People substitute letters with number or punctuation that look like the letters, use various homophones, or split up words with punctuation. Maybe you could try translating your comments to Greek or Romanian.
If there’s been a pause of several hours, people consider it a new conversation. “Good morning” implies that the speaker assumes other participants have slept overnight.
what happens when battlefields are all drone vs. drone and remote controlled tanks?
I rented a moving truck, to be driven 400 miles away. When I got the into the truck for the first time outside of the store, I noticed it the console said low tire pressure on one tire. I said “oh, I’m not messing with it now, probably just needs to be topped off” and drove away. Then it was fine for a couple days as I loaded the truck, then once I finished loading and left… I filled the tire up… it kept going low as I drove, though. So I had to stop 5-6 times in the next 250 miles and top it off. Finally I inspected it and there was a tear around the fill valve. This was in a very remote area of a freeway, basically the middle of nowhere, 60 miles in either direction to a town bigger than like 500 people. I stopped safely at a rest stop but it ended up taking the truck company’s roadside assistance 10 hours to fully get me back on the road. Then they ended up charging me for an extra day at the return site, giving me this huge run around on the phone, and I had to file a credit card chargeback for the extra day (thankfully, it was successful).
So obviously I should have told the rental place immediately “wtf this truck says it has a low tire” or at the very least, gone back before I left.
Ha, what? I don’t generally care about celebrities at all but I love Patrick Stewart. Maybe that’s the problem.
Being quite familiar with Tyler, TX in the past, I’m very sure this guy deserves this.
Generally you own what you post, but you have given a license to the site to display and use it. In the US, social media sites are protected by something called Section 230. This allows sites to display user-generated content without being liable for legal issues related to it, as long as they do a decent job of trying to moderate clearly illegal content.
