In my experience, it’s not really a term you’ll come across unless you’re Jewish/around a Jewish family at Hanukkah. I have only ever heard/used this term with my family and other Jews because the generic “menorah” is what’s known to the population at large - assuming they know anything about Jews to begin with.

The Israeli mission to the U.N. in Geneva called the comments “deplorable and deeply concerning” and blamed Hamas for civilian deaths.

Hamas is evil, yes, but that doesn’t prevent the Israeli government from also being evil.

He doesn’t care about the hostages and I doubt he really thinks this is a good method to rescue them.

All he cares about is his slaughter, his revenge, but two wrongs do not make a right; hurting innocent people in an attempt to get revenge on Hamas is wrong just like Hamas attacking Israeli civilians was wrong. All this is doing, other than killing thousands of people, is making the world remember their hate for Jews and Muslims all over again and making it unsafe for us no matter where we stand on the (overall and current) Israel/Palestine situation.

Jew does not equal Israel. Muslim does not equal Hamas. Calling a war crime a war crime is not antisemitic. Criticizing a government is not antisemitic just because it claims to represent Jews. It doesn’t represent me, motherfucker.
