  • Is something true because the majority says that it is true or because it is true?

This is pseudo-skeptical nonsense. These scholars have done the research and digging into sources and have the evidence that Jesus, the man, existed in the time that the gospels Bible describes. Until you have evidence that either disproves his existence or disproves all the historical records, this is contrarian nonsense with no basis in how historical research is done.

  • It’s almost like people are neither wholly good nor wholly evil.

You’re right the dramatic expansion of drone warfare and and the military industrial complex is an awful thing but it’s not because he’s a mustache twirling villain bent on hurting people for the funnsies. It’s a convoluted tangled web of corporate contracts, lobbyists politicians at all levels, and backroom deal making, how military heirarchy interprets orders though the entire structure, almost like it’s called a complex for a reason. Congress is just as responsible for the military as the president. They could cut funding, modify military doctrine, perform more stringent audits on the pentagon.

He played a role in the complex, but he wasn’t some mastermind ordering specific drone strikes on weddings. I highly doubt he had a direct hand in the vast majority of military operations with the exception of the Bin Laden raid.

  • If needing to pay for basic necessities weren’t a factor in people getting jobs, I highly doubt the majority of people would work the kinds of jobs of today. I don’t know a single person who is excited to go into their retail job and deal with shitty customers all day or sit in a bland cubicle all day making spreadsheets that nobody really cares about.

I know more people who would much rather devote their time to learning and playing instruments, or making something with their own hands, or writing stories, or spending time raising their families.

  • I really like X.Y.Z

X is for major overhauls. Y is for a new individual feature added or dramatically reworked, Z is for bug fixes, updates and polish.

Like Blender is currently on 3.6. They had a dramatic major program wide overhaul a few years ago. And since then have been adding new features and reworking old ones in major 3.X releases, and occasionally have smaller updates and fixes in between, giving us 3.X.Y updates.
