You’re thinking of the resource that Chile and Peru fought a war over. Venezuela is trying to annex Guava

What does Microsoft Word give you that OpenOffice Writer or LibreOffice Writer don’t?
I’ve started to realize that temporary tab containers do almost everything that I used to use incognito mode for, and more.
People say they hate cabbage all the time, but cabbage is really great. You can make slaw with it, you can ferment it into sauerkraut or kimchi, you can steam it for a side or to put in a sandwich, you can add it to any kind of filling or stuffing, or you can roll other stuff inside it, you can boil it in a soup, it gives a great flavor to vegetable broth, it’s really nutritious and it keeps for much longer than other leafy greens.
You had a journey, a struggle, to get where you are. You don’t need to impress everyone or check all the conventional boxes in order to have a compelling life story.
One of the long lingering effects of mental and socioeconomic afflictions is that we don’t ever believe we are worthy.
when i say “boycott everything”, i mean everything. nothing short of a secessio plebis type of deal
at some point, we are going to have to boycott everything
I used the word “use-value” in the presence of a group of progressives today. They were pretty unanimous that housing should first and foremost be a provision for living, rather than a financial investment.
I think the majority of it is due to either the reductionist cultural narratives about gender, or not feeling comfortable or proficient going out and making the ask.
Either way, a gender gulf.
What are you referring to when you say “capitalism”?
Are you talking about the dominant economic paradigm of the Enlightenment through to the present day, characterized by companies with private and fully transferrable ownership, named after the concept of “capital gains”, embodying the distinction between land and labor and capital and entrepreneurship, and originally pioneered by the Dutch East India Company (and also the British one)?
Or are you talking about a more vague pattern of human relations that merely involves exchange between two private parties that is mediated by some sort of ruleset?
They don’t.
My first experience of paganism was from a youth director who practiced Wicca in addition to Christianity, and also taught us about the Gnostic Gospels. My second experience of paganism was from a black girl who was a cosplayer, a hardcore Whovian, and had major ADHD. The local pagan group is remarkably progressive.
Most pagans in the West are left-leaning, I’d say. It’s just an insufferable small minority that are reactionary.
If you harbor 5 fugitives, you have something to fear from the government. If you harbor 500 fugitives, the government has something to fear from you.
What I’m saying is, when the time comes, I hope you’ll have way more than 2 cows.
Any way you put it, things are going to get crazy. That’s why I’m getting that feeling.
I’m not saying we are or will be vanquished. I am saying that the balance of guns and land is not in our favor (although the balance of distribution infrastructure is slightly in favor of the libs).
Liberals will largely stand by if fascism takes over, especially in this country. One of the best hopes we have is that the military would crack down on a coup, and the balance of representation in the military is very much not in our favor. The other best hope is balkanization or at least devolution, where state and local governments become more relevant than the federal government and this allows us to thrive in pockets.
I believe in a subset of people. But that subset of people is not enough to prevent things from getting very ugly.
I expect we’ll have something to eclipse 2020. But I also expect there’s going to be a very strong reactionary backlash waiting in the wings again. I’m hoping to secure more viable refuges by that point.
That’s because they largely bought out most of the places that were better to work at.
After reading this, why am I getting a feeling in my stomach that reminds me of being on a roller coaster right before a big drop? Why do I feel like all of America is going to be like that very soon?
I used to have at least one of those toolbars.
A president they can kill. A military command they can buy off.
But what if buying off the command, and killing the president, didn’t do anything, because we made both of these effectively redundant in the first place?
