  • I don’t have a monitor recommendation, but I have a Fractal Torrent case for my 7900xtx, and it’s absolutely amazing with airflow, one of the best you can buy.

I am really happy with it and would buy another one if I had to build it again. I really like how the PSU is in the top, the I side of the case looks really cool as a result.

You can buy no RGB edition, and there are a TON of ways you can configure the fans or radiators. Check the user manual for options to see if it works for your use case.

  • Eh, they seem fine, maybe an improvement in bass response over my pixel 6 pro. They aren’t knock-your-socks-off better, but they’re decent. Pixel 6 pro had decent ones also, so definitely a bit of an improvement.

Edit - just tried them in Netflix vs YouTube which is what I tested prior to replying to you. Netflix is MUCH louder than YouTube for some reason. Definitely louder and more dynamic range than the 6 pro.

  • Lol, both my wife’s and my p8p delivered today, both had signature required. I was working on laundry and heard my doorbell ring. By the time I got to the front door and opened it, the fedex driver was already on his way out of my street.

At least both were accounted for and no issues with the shipment.

I got my notification that it would be delivered today yesterday at about 5pm or so. Everything happened pretty quickly.

    Happy new phone day everyone!

  • I like this analogy. The teenagers, some who are very responsible, intelligent, kind, and respectful of others have got caught up with a couple of POS idiots who think they know best, and then all of them do some stupid shit together and become a laughing stock of the whole school.

There are some amazing people here. We have amazing freedoms, fantastic opportunities, and so many things to be thankful for (compared to so many other places in the world at least). There’s just a bunch of shit ass teenagers spoiling the bunch and causing the rest of us to look like complicit idiots to the rest of the world, when we’re just as if not more appalled.

  • OP, people often mention openwrt, but you can also buy a FreshTomato compatible router and also try that. It’s super user friendly, regularly updated, and has a significant amount of features you would likely never find on average routers, just like openwrt.

I really like using the VPN functionality and running an openVPN server and dynamic DNS setup so I can always connect my phones to a trusted VPN and backhaul my connection through home while I’m out and on a risky open connection.

As a Cybersecurity professional, I feel like it’s got a lot of good things going for it that I really appreciate, and you can control it without the ISP being able to intrude on your network.

I run my wired connections through that and use the router for DHCP, and then also have a separate mesh system for my wireless. I can set up separate virtual networks as needed and have them separated/isolated altogether, or allow specifically how I want them to see each other, etc.

You can even set up entirely different networks by port on the back of the router. Cool stuff. Openwrt is good too, but most people don’t know about FreshTomato I don’t think, it spun off of Tomato several years ago when those devs quit updating it.
