  • A word for words and names? Nomenclature, terminology, lexicon…

A word for peeing and pooping collectively? Most words have other uses, but also pertain to both bathroom activities, like Excretion, evacuation, expulsion, waste, elimination… There are better words that specifically refer to each act individually, but not collectively. Just for peeing there’s urinate and micturate, and just for pooping there’s defecate.

  • Yeah, best case scenario, It’s mathematically the same as a +1 AC bump in that one more value of the d20 attack roll would be a miss than would be without it. Except the extra roll value is between 6 and 15 points above what would currently hit your AC, which is worse. If they already have to roll middling to very high in order to hit you, that 6-15 points could be higher than it’s possible to roll without criting (i.e. >19)

Even assuming your AC is abysmal, like 10, if you roll a 10 on the die, you now get misses on a roll plus modifiers of 1-9 and 25 (excluding crits). If the attacker has total modifiers of 5 or less to hit, that 25 isn’t doing anything at all as they either couldn’t hit it or would crit to hit it. So in order to keep your extra point relevant, you would want to save a low roll, ideally a 1, for an extra point 6 points above your AC. But even that gets less useful the higher your AC is. Too high on either your AC or your roll and you have the same problem, the ring does nothing.

This ring is maximally effective the lower your AC is. And even then, best case scenario, it has the total effectiveness of a +1 to AC.A ring of protection already provides you that mathematical advantage. Plus ring of protection is less rare.

That’s the most broken thing I’ve ever seen. Even before the “you get to keep the previous roll into perpetuity if you want” bit. Rolled a 10? Cool. You could run into battle wearing only magnets that attract weapons and arrows alike and still bounce them off your flesh like Superman… forever.

Edit: I misread the text. My bad. No supermanning here. In fact, looks like it’s a significantly worse ring of protection with a higher rarity.

  • In fairness from the perspective of someone who has had to pull a lot of network cable in buildings before, drywall ceilings SUCK, drop ceilings are fine but can really be a pain, and open ceilings are chefs kiss soooooo much easier to work with. I promise that’s true for your HVAC, fire sprinklers, electrical/lighting, and plumbing guys too. Particularly when you have to work on a scissor lift for those high ceilings, rather than on a 6ft ladder. From a practicality standpoint, open ceilings are way better for maintenance and new installations.

  • The “unfinished” ceilings are common in warehouse stores. It is largely a feature of practicality. Since electrical, water and ventilation typical run overhead and needs to be serviced occasionally, putting drop ceiling tiles up would make them difficult to work with, particularly when you need a scissor lift (rather than a ladder) to reach the utility lines. But it also has some benefits like higher lighting fixtures which means less direct/more ambient lighting, fewer places for pests to roam in the building or dust to build up, etc. It may just be that I’m used to it, but it doesn’t bother me as an aesthetic. Drop ceiling is more common in smaller stores.

Not sure what you mean by the drab colors. The floor looks like it could be whiter and probably needs a polish, but the blues look nice enough to me. There’s not much to decorate though as most of the story is wide open with very few surfaces that aren’t covered in products for sale.

  • The problem with the Wii U wasn’t the concept. It was the execution. The idea of a portable handheld console is a sound one, it’s just not a universal need. Making your console dependent on a niche feature and only having like 2 exclusive launch titles and bunch of third party ports is not going to compel people to buy a whole new console, especially when everyone and their grandma already owns your previous console that had hundreds of games available on it. I bought one with my brother mostly so I could play Breath of the Wild when it was impossible to buy a market price Switch. It’s perfectly fine as a console and I used the portable mode on occasion. It just doesn’t have a lot of other reasons to exist.

  • I recently got the G Cloud for the same reason. I’m sitting in the same room as my playstation, not allowed to exist in the other room all night or my wife feels like I’m mad at her, and don’t always want to sit and binge tv with her. Now I can us PSPlay and Steam Link to play games from my PS5 and gaming PC while sitting on the living room with her. It’s not as nice an experience as playing on a full sized screen with a lighter controller and no occasional connectivity issues, but it beats not being able to play at all. Been using it all the time.

  • For real. Once you are a billionaire, with even the most basic investments, you have to try REAL hard to become broke again. Spare money begets money. Spare dragon hoards begets dragon hoards. Any bitch baby billionaire whining about taxes can kiss every single asshole of single working parents, people struggling to cover student loan debts, people who perpetually rent because they can’t afford a home with a lower mortgage payment than there rent is, and every person who got ill and lost there job and home as a result. They don’t need more dragon hoards. They’ll be just fine.
