It’s not Switzerland doing the blocking, it’s Austria. And Austria is a full EU member.

There have been plenty of efforts and attempts to ban hijabs completely, in different European countries at different times. The debate started probably around the time the first Islamicimmigrants came to Europe.
The right wing is pushing specifically for the banning of things like the hijab or other religious head coverings usually worn by women. They justify it by saying that these head coverings are a symbol of oppression against women, and have no place in a free society.
Thing is though, how free is a society if it feels it has to dictate what women can and can’t wear?
Are you referring to all the other more important topics that the Greek PM wanted to talk about, but didn’t get a chance to because Sunak was being petty over an ostensibly unimportant topic?
So, a modicum of looking into the background of this renders the following:
Sorry, the only person who has squandered anything here is Rishi Sunak.
A bagel is a bagel. Two halves of a bagel with something on between are still a bagel. The same goes for a roll. A sandwich is two slices of bread with something in between.
Precisely this. American terminology applies in America only.
We were even going to kill Johnny Depp’s dogs at one point but settled for the “hostage video”.
That was just Barnaby Joyce grandstanding and making a big deal out of ‘we apply the rules to everyone, no matter if they’re rich or famous’. No fucking way he would have ever laid hands on those dogs. The man was and still is a fucking embarrassment to politics and Australia.
It’s the same in Australia, plus you can basically be kicked out any time if the landlord decides they want to use the house for something else or just up the rent. Renting in Australia is highly precarious.
Cattle, and the things you describe, are the result of human intervention…
Territorial waters extend to a maximum of 12 nautical miles off the shore. States can claim a contiguous zone to up to 24 nautical miles, in which they can exercise some control to protect their territory and customs.
The exclusive economic zone (EEZ), in which a state controls all economic resources, extends to 200 nautical miles off the shore. These are not territorial waters.
All of the above have exceptions where the territorial waters and EEZs of two states would overlap.
The Falklands are 260 nautical miles off the Argentinean coast. So even if those ‘international laws’ you’re so vaguely citing existed, they would not apply here.
I’m back to masking up on trains and in crowded places. Someone wants to give me stick about it, they can go have a nice big steaming cup of MYOFB.
The cruelty is the point.
It’s kinda like rule 34: if it exists, there will be people who collect it.
Repping brands. Like tshirts that say Oakley or under armor on them. Why are you wearing a shirt that says under armour, but isn’t the actual under armour? You paid them to advertise for them you rube
I don’t wear shirts, t-shirts or other clothes with clearly visible logos or brand names, unless I got the piece for free or even am getting paid to wear it.
Exceptions are music/band gear, if I like the band, and sports gear, because it is so fucking hard to find decent sports gear without visible logos and brand names.
That would class as necrophilia. He died in January.
Dude’s dead. Any trials he has coming up are happening in the afterlife.
Any place of discourse that incorporates the term ‘master race’ in its name is a place I give a wide berth.
I always preferred Seagate spinning steel over Western Digital. I’ve had some WD drives fail horribly, unexpectedly and very prematurely on me. My PC today still has some Seagate HDDs in it that are approaching 15 years of age.
Having worked in tech for two and a half decades, and in places that were this direct - no thanks. There’s a fine line between being clear and direct, and being toxic - what Torvalds did here was toxic, and in many workplaces of today would be classed as bullying. Being subjected to this ‘directness’ for any given amount of time will do a number on most people’s personality and self-esteem. People don’t improve themselves if all you do is shit on them.
