It’s going to be natural gas…. But I wish the answer was more solar. Natural gas is critical in the northern hemisphere for safety. Until there are significant investments for power storage from solar we are going to need gas.

I usually outfit my bikes with a bag under the seat which includes all tools for changing a flat and a spare tube if there’s room. Topeak makes a few that come with the tools included but if you have the tools there are plenty of small bags to choose from. Also, don’t forget a frame mounted hand pump (if you’re not using CO2).
The future is with less cars and more public transit. The sooner Michigan realizes this the better of we’ll be.

simple solution: leave your giant ass parking lot at the gate and force everyone onto a walking/cycling path. Might help with obesity problems if people had to use their legs for once.

Regularly: Clean and lube chain, Wash down frame, check brake pads, make sure all necessary tools and supplies are in seat bag for fixing flats
Longer Interval: Check brake/shifter cables, clean cassette, check/true wheels, replace handlebar tape, clean and grease bottom bracket
Would have been great to get in on solar early enough that you were grandfathered into the new system with net metering. Hopefully this is added back and soon, without it I don’t see residential solar taking off.
Most people stay in their home an average of 7 years. Not really feasible to wait for a 25 year payback.
