I’m the same used windows on my gaming pc most of my life and never had any of these popups. I’m starting to think it’s the Linux fanboy herd over exaggerating things to push false news. The Linux fanboys on this site are worse than fucking conservatives.

Came here to say this. The entire legacy of Kain / SoulReaver series. I have them on steam, but they are unfortunately very dated. I could see them redone in the same style as god of war to make some company a lot of money.

I’m having no issues avoiding American politics. When I started Lemmy I just used all and blocked any communities that put out stuff I didn’t want to see, politics, furry porn etc now my all feed is pretty well curated, my experience with 12 years on Reddit was not the same I couldn’t avoid the American politics, as people posted them in subs where they had no business being.

Yeah, they lack personal freedom in USA, it’s just the way it is. Freedom means it’s ok for your boss to spy on you, they’re free to do that and you are free to be spied on. Oh and they get to own a gun which makes them like really really cool and tough.

America seems to be a complete cluster fuck shithole of a country lately. The rest of the world is pretty dire but America seems to take the lead. When you elected a corrupt media personality to lead who is now being charged with election fraud and multiple other crimes where he tried to install himself as a dictator and a large portion of the population not only lap up his bullshit but are ready to outright kill people in his name and still believe he did nothing wrong is all the proof needed. The grooming by the church, the grooming by republicans etc just sounds awful. Now admittedly I don’t live there and my only insight is from stories that make national headlines I have to believe it’s not as bad as it sounds, but the majority of sane Americans I talk to don’t give me much hope. Not claiming that where I am in the world is much better, but we can still say at least it’s not as bad as America.

That’s the one thing that gets me about the system is the USA. You have health insurance from your employer that can just fire you if you get sick. Doesn’t make a lot of sense, even if they don’t the insurance company might just decide not to pay out, and even if they do you have to pay hundreds of dollars in premiums.

I mean I can’t get fired on the spot at my work place. Don’t have to worry about a crazy neighbour shooting me. Don’t have to worry about healthcare or its costs. Nobody tells me what books I can and cannot read I can express whichever sexuality I was born with without fear of backlash Don’t have to worry if my kid will come back from school Protected by unions and the like from work bullshittery

To add to this the absolute worst thing religion does is try to force itself on others. Wouldn’t be such a bad thing if it was just kept to itself. But nope. Like the saying; religion is like a penis, it’s fine to have one, it’s fine to be proud of it. But if you start waving it around outside and start trying to push it down my throat, we’re going to have a problem!

I’m bald. I have to shave my head to achieve the look, shave my hair into a style if you like. Even if that style is the absence of hair.

I don’t think religion causes war, but I definitely think it’s used as an excuse to do unthinkable things to living, breathing and feeling people en masse, not to mention the damage to the planet and it’s other inhabitants. Like you say religion is used to control people, people are willing to die for their religion, willing to turn on their children or vice versa.

Though I do get that for some people it brings them hope, allows them to be part of a community and other benefits. And even though it also fuels pure hatred, bigotry and racism and gives people personal allowances to commit atrocities. I wouldn’t hold any negative feelings to those that do choose to take part in religion. Providing the religion stops before the evil starts, nothing too extreme, ya know. There’s a line but hard to say where it’s drawn.
