The Harry potter world is so dystopian and broken. And after years of being fucked by them Harry just want to become a cop. 🙄

Adblock plus was the standard for so long until maybe 5 or so years ago when they were bought out or something and they were hinting at letting some ads in. I think only the very online people switched to uBlock Origin before Adblock Plus tanked itself. That is all from hazy memory but it wouldn’t surprise me that normies got recommended Adblock Plus and used it until it didn’t work right only to seek out better options now that youtube is serving them so many ads.
I also work in the industry, light tech, and I went back to torrenting like a year ago. Feel pretty good about it. I actually had a paramount plus subscription that I cancelled after working on a paramount show. Fuck those guys.
There is definitely a benifit, it just doesn’t necessarily have to be for the bottom line. If you are running a major publisher you are likely spending public shareholders money or executive partners money (with some skin in the game yourself) on these games.
At the very least based on the consistency some publishers use Drm we know getting Drm buys piece of mind/job security that whoever is managing the project is doing something to prevent shrink/theft.
It’s like the ad line goes, nobody ever gets fired for buying an IBM.
There is safety in doing the best practice or industry standard.
That all said, it’s entirely possible there is hard data out there that strongly suggests there is a cost benifit too it, and it’s just not public data.

Welcome to the internet
It’s working pretty well on my steam deck for me but not without a few bugs. Nothing game breaking though. (I also had some different bugs on windows 10 so not sure how much is platform specific)
gaming and the abundance of software and third party support and tutorials on windows is why I haven’t taken the dive to linux yet. So yeah, if linux does gaming as well or better my migration is more and more likely.
