Thanks! Increasing verbosity should be useful.
I’ll post back when i try that.

Your question is likely too general for a good answer.
What do you need specifically? What makes the solutions you’ve tried ‘meh’? What would make an office suite ‘better’?
There used to be a wine-based project specifically for Microsoft office. It was called crossover office. Not sure if it’s still maintained.
Good luck!
I was (am?) in the same dilemma. Loved my 7 pro, but someone dropped it, cracked the screen, and things started going downhill (hardware wise) from there.
As a replacement I got an 8t (still OnePlus). It’s nice, but I miss the 7 pro.
OnePlus is no longer an enthusiast brand, and I think the Pixel is the only other one currently. Maybe the Nothing phone? That’s kind of early adopter territory still, I think.
Sorry I’m not more helpful. I prefer phones with unlocked bootloaders that allow for alternate firmware to be installed.
IRC.
Doesn’t everyone?
How can a “dummy” utilize this?
Yes. Collabora is the maintainer for the online version (as well as the Android). Easiest way to host is via nextcloud.
Gentoo
This is probably better than dual booting. You’re learning the command line, which is the happiness foundation needed to enjoy linux.*
Link is dead. Do you remember what was discussed?
Not bad at all. With some tweaking, it is commensurate with other operating systems.
Your problem was Lineage OS.
Newer Android phones have binary drivers for their camera sensors. Other boundaries will work, but not to the full extent.
Google Pixel with stock firmware is probably what you want.
What features are those? Camera related?
I HAD been loyal to OnePlus for as long as they were friendly to enthusiasts, developers, and explorers of various firmware.
Now I’m on the hunt for a brand that provides those things as OnePlus has moved in a different direction.
I got more info with increased verbosity:
wine client error:150: write: Bad file descriptor 01a8:err:ntoskrnl:ZwLoadDriver failed to create driver L"\\Registry\\Machine\\System\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\lirsgt": c0000142
A little searching found that this is a copy protection file. Interesting because I copied the disc’s files to a directory and installed from there. Wondering if installing from the discs themselves would fare better.
