41·6 months agoShocker. This whole situation is one big shit sandwich. On one hand, it’s like yeah maybe next time, think twice before you poke the bear. But then again even without the October 7th attacks, we have all these radical Israelis who believe it is their biblical duty to evict all Palestinians from greater Israel. Like wtf?

Look into Perplexity. Not sure if it takes ebooks directly as an input, but depending on your sample size you may be able to copy and paste the text of each chapter into it and generate summaries that way.
There’s also a YouTuber named Matt Wolfe who catalogs AI tools on his web site Futurepedia, try searching there.

Similar story—last year my mom wanted a new macbook for Christmas. I got her a refurbished Asus something or other for a fraction of the price, installed Linux Mint on it, and customized it with a Mac theme.
I was transparent with her about the fact it’s not a Mac, and taught her to use things like Keepass and Firefox. It took some convincing and persistence, but in the end she stuck with it and I’m kinda proud of her tbh.
Good on you for showing your rents there’s a viable alternative to Windows.

Wouldn’t this still impact one’s ability to collect unemployment? In some states at least, I believe there’s a distinction between employees fired with cause versus without cause, although I admit I’m no expert on this subject.
EDIT: This article states that unemployment kicks in if the employee lost their job through no fault of their own or quit for “good cause.”
This other article states that depending on the circumstances and the state you worked in, you may be able to collect unemployment if you are fired from your job. Whether you can collect unemployment depends on the circumstances of why your employment was terminated.
Good luck arguing for refusal to return to office as a “good cause!”

Fat chance they’re actually using Firefox in the first place. My money’s on Chrome or IE.
The data set is available under the Mozilla Public License v2 through the Common Voice GitHub page. I’m not sure if I’m reading the terms of the license correctly, but I believe it allows commercial use.
Thank you for the excerpt. I initially interpreted the title as US government agencies will stop using Firefox, not US government agencies will stop requiring their web masters to test in Firefox.
