• If we Middle Easterners don’t drag the US into another losing multi-decade conflict, then we have let the Palestinians down. The martyrs need to be avenged and the US is the target.

I really hope the US makes a big mistake and finds itself stuck here for years to come.

I always thought it was funny that people in the US think we are afraid of their military when we always wanted their warmongering politicians to win elections and so that they get stuck here. “Who do our enemies want to win?” I can guarantee you Billie Bob Frank, that we want the one who is threatening us with invasions.

Yeah, that’s why I think they want to wrap things up as fast as possible. So they can take what’s left of Palestine, fortify Israel, and then divert and move on the Venezuela thing. Israel is important to them but it’s also on the other side of the planet. Venezuela is closer to home and is actively threatening a fossil fuel companies profits. IMO we can only hope they get tied up over there for longer than what is sustainable.

They are basically showing their hand right now and that hand is, “the empire can’t support more than one conflict at a time now.” They tried keeping up both Ukraine and Israel and then almost immediately dropped Ukraine when they realized they can’t do both. Now the Venezuela things popped up and they are stuck in Israel. They don’t HAVE to be stuck there, but I guess they really want to finish off that Genocide since it’s on everyone’s radar. If other countries have been waiting to push back, now might just be the perfect time, but then I’m not a geopolitical expert. It could also just cause ol Joe to nuke the planet.

I generally agree, I don’t think they anticipated a war in the Middle East and it kind of blindsided them. Israel is also strategically important to US, so they can’t just let them hang like they’re doing with Ukraine. On the other hand, US i starting to realize that Israel is a geopolitical albatross around their neck. It ruined the whole narrative they had going with Ukraine, and people around the world are increasingly turning both on Israel and US for sponsoring the very blatant and obvious crimes Israel is committing completely unapologetically.

I get the impression that US admin did not anticipate the political blowback for supporting Israel initially. Biden basically gave Israel a blank check at the start, and Netanyahu is now cashing it in because he knows that if the war ends his own position is going to be shaky. It’s really not clear how much leverage US has over Israel at this point. US created a monster that’s now biting the master’s hand.

Until they can bring Israel to heel though, there’s little chance of US actually having the capacity to get involved in other conflicts in my opinion.
