brilliant thing about that is you can still put the best gpu in it and totally max out everything else on the cheap.

my 2012 rig just got all the ram it can address, a 3060, an NVMe ssd because that was a very expensive thing I never did in the first place that is super cheap now and a massive performance boost, a mellanox card, and I’m looking at CPUs but honestly it was the one thing I didn’t cheap on in the first place so still perfectly good.

I reckon she’s got another decade in her at least, unless consumer grade quantum happens in that time.

I had a build I made in 2011, same case but the white version.

Gtx 580 (yes that old, not THAT 580, the old one by nvidia lol)

    These are CAD prices

Case - NZXT Phantom $200 i7 2600K $400 p8-z68 Deluxe $250 Corsair vengeance 16gb (4x4gb) Corsair gold ax850 Optical drive (blu-ray) SSD HDD Corsair H100 CPU cooler $100 GTX 580 $500 Panasonic TH-50PZ85U (this is the plasma screen tv I originally had it hooked up to)

That PC is still hooked up in the office, my daughter plays roblox on it. It’s hooked up to a 144hz, 1440p LG ultra gear monitor and that beast is still going strong. A couple case fans don’t work anymore, and I don’t care.

Built this to play Diablo 3

The fan controls on the case do still work though!

No joke, i am building a pc with similar specs right now. As I do not want to spend my paycheck on components, I live in the past. Cant wait to play Witcher 3
